Children in primary school have a natural curiosity for science and technology. However, many of their teachers lack initial training or are uncomfortable with science subjects and handson demonstrations. …What is taught is often disconnected from cutting edge science and from today’s applications of
science and technology (S&T) and tends to dampen the interest acquired at a younger age.

Sangari International Institute

The nonprofit Sangari International Institute develops and  promotes scientific literacy for all citizens. In partnership with  the American Museum of Natural History, we have developed  and hosted major exhibits on Darwin, Einstein, Water, and the  Genomic Revolution. Over the past six years our projects have  reached almost 1 million people. With North Carolina State University, the Institute also has sponsored workshops  for teachers. And in partnership with the National Science Teachers Association, we will host a series of seminars and  gatherings for educators, policymakers, government officials,  and others with a focus on international issues, educational  research, and the value of science for all citizens.
